Text messaging - Worse Than Drunk Driving?

Would you prefer a vehicle from someone who drove a car driving shot down 6 beers and 3 scotches, or someone who obsessively SMS is addictive? I think I would prefer my chances of flying with the bar, at least you know that he put his eyes on the road - more or less.

Recently I saw a man driving at high speed along a motorway, Ontario, who appeared to be dead. His head was slumped to one side and his eyes were on the floor of the car will be trained. However, despitesome minor weaving, maintained his vehicle on a more or less straight trajectory which implied that he was alive and navigating, presumably by squinting to one side as he busily text messaged the boss or may be a prospective date.

Many of the American and Canadian driver's lead in this risky behavior. According to a survey about 91% of Americans believe, text messages while driving is as dangerous as driving after a few drinks. However 57% confess that they do it in aregularly.

It is bad enough, news of frenetically tap with your thumb while trying to navigate your way through traffic jams, but the people who regularly read e-mails and even surf porn while behind the wheel. I do not want to be the back passenger in a vehicle when the driver spots a hot Jenna Jameson picture and is currently careening off a tractor is fixed around the corner.

Gadgets of all kinds, which divide the attention is not a good ideawhile driving. Male drivers who shave at the wheel while you're on the rearview mirror as a visual aid also a danger. Perhaps even worse than the shaving and messaging types are those female drivers who apply makeup behind the wheel.

I saw a woman in Toronto, stuffed into a burger when applying mascara. She had take-out burger and fries sitting on the dashboard, and between bites of cheese burger reject them in the vicinity of the vanity mirror and squint, as if they were applied mascara. At one pointshe managed to steer with his elbow while some complicated life and make-up bag to switch. When their vehicle cut too close to me as we approached the Gardner Expressway, I leaned heavily on the horn. Instead of being in danger of losing control of her vehicle during the operation was her boudoir confirm on-wheels, she gave me the finger.

Text messaging while driving is very popular with the younger demographic. About 65% of those who were allowed to send messagesaged 18 to 34, while only 6% were 55 years or older.

No matter how old or young - like hungry, horny or cosmetically challenged - not do it. Follow the advice in Seven Little Girls, a single by Paul Evans and the Curls taken ...

Keep your mind on your journey

Keep your hands on the wheel
