Here are some important facts that you should consider before you upgrade your current operating system of your notebook to Windows Vista are increasing.

1 - System Check

Download and run the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor. This software will check your notebook and give a report to see if your Vista notebook suitable meeting request.

2 - Processor-Check

Your CPU processor must run at least a clock speed of 800MHz. For Premium OS models they have a minimum requirement on a 1 GHz.

3 - RAM-Check

If you think that XP consumes a lot of RAM, you might be Vistaworst nightmare. Make sure you have the minimum 512 mB installed. 1 GB of RAM is recommended.

4 - Graphics Check

To run the beautiful Aero theme, your graphic must support the 64mB VGA Ram. Beware this theme is nice but consumes a lot of memory.

Make sure that a DVD drive installed. You can forget about Vista, if you have only a combo drive is installed.

7 - Vista Versions

Select your Vista operating system. One thing about Microsoft is that they have so many versions of the release ... (it sucks)

Vista Home Basic - The lowest end of everything. No Aero theme function.

Vista Home Premium - More like the Windows XP Media Center, if you liketo compare.

Vista Business - comparable to the features of Windows XP Professional, unless it is in Vista.

Vista Enterprise - with added security and encryption, and tools such as BitLocker Drive Encryption. More Application Compatibility tools and support for multiple languages.

Vista Ultimate - The King of Kings () nothing to do with Triple H's entrance song done by Motorhead. All this in a package with all the rich Vista features.

8 - ApplicationCheck Compatibility

Like XP, Vista has its own suffering, when it comes to program compatibility. Run Application Compatibility Toolkit to identify you to programs that might not work on the Vista platform.

9 - Check Backup

Always, before any kind of upgrade, please remember to backup your files. All documents, pictures and other important files should be backed up, so you do not lose valuable files. Data is essential, and securingalways a must. They are probably unaware of what happens when you upgrade installation.
